AWARE in the Water4All booklet of funded projects

AWARE is one of the projects presented in the Funded Projects Booklet of the Water4All 2024 Joint Transnational Call “Water for Circular Economy”, published by the Water4All Partnership in May 2026.

The project page (p. 12) summarises what AWARE sets out to do: develop a Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) method tailored to Water Resource Recovery and Reuse (WRR&R) systems, combining Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Life Cycle Costing (LCC) and Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA). It highlights the collection of primary data through interviews and questionnaires, cost-benefit analysis to clarify treatment costs, and the factors that shape the uptake of water reuse, such as stakeholder awareness, market confidence and social acceptance.

The booklet also lists the consortium, coordinated by Università Niccolò Cusano, and the six national funding agencies that support the project: MUR (Italy), GSRI (Greece), FCT (Portugal), CONFAP (Brazil), TÜBİTAK (Türkiye) and AEI (Spain). AWARE started on 1 May 2026 and runs for three years.
