Accessibility statement for aware.hmu.gr.

The AWARE consortium wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technologies.

Standard

The site aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the standard referenced by the EU Web Accessibility Directive (EU) 2016/2102 and by EN 301 549.

What we have done

  • Text and interface colours are chosen and measured to meet WCAG AA contrast (4.5:1 for text).
  • Every page has a “skip to main content” link, a main landmark and a logical heading order.
  • All controls can be used with a keyboard and show a visible focus indicator.
  • Icon-only links and buttons have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Animations respect the “reduce motion” setting of your device.
  • The study cases map has a text alternative, and each case is described in full on the page.
  • The site loads no fonts or trackers from third-party servers.

Known limitations

  • The Gantt chart on the Work Plan page is an image. Its content is summarised in its text alternative and in the work package descriptions on the same page.
  • The Italian, Greek, Portuguese, Spanish and Turkish versions were translated with machine assistance and are being reviewed by native-speaking partners. The glossary is available in English only.
  • Documents published by third parties and linked from this site may not be fully accessible.
