The consecutive and interlinked stages of a product system, from raw material acquisition or generation from natural resources to final disposal. For a water reuse scheme this typically spans construction of the plant and network, years of operation (energy, chemicals, maintenance, sludge handling), distribution and use of the reclaimed water, and eventual decommissioning.
