End of Life
The final stage of a life cycle, describing what happens to a product or its parts once it is no longer used: reuse, recycling, recovery of energy or materials, incineration or landfill. For a treatment plant it covers decommissioning and the fate of membranes, pipes and concrete. For wastewater itself, a circular approach turns the end of life of one product into the raw material of the next.
