Disability-Adjusted Life Year (DALY)
A measure of health damage that adds up years of life lost to premature death and years lived with illness or disability, weighted by severity. LCIA methods use it as the endpoint unit for human health, so that the effects of climate change, particulate matter and toxic emissions can be expressed on one scale.
