Global Warming Potential (GWP)

The climate change indicator in most LCAs, expressing all greenhouse gas emissions as the amount of carbon dioxide that would cause the same warming, usually over 100 years (GWP100). In wastewater systems it captures not only electricity use but also methane and nitrous oxide released directly during treatment, which can be substantial.
