Ozone Depletion

The thinning of the stratospheric ozone layer, which shields the Earth from ultraviolet radiation, by substances such as CFCs and some refrigerants, expressed in CFC-11 equivalent. Thanks to the Montreal Protocol it is now usually a small contributor, but it remains a standard category, and nitrous oxide from biological treatment adds to it.
