Particulate Matter Formation

An impact category for the health damage caused by fine particles in the air, emitted directly or formed from gases such as sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and ammonia. It is one of the most important contributors to health impacts in LCA, and in wastewater systems is linked mostly to energy supply and to any on-site combustion.
